Definition of Force Majeure

Force Majeure meaning or descrpition: a major event that the parties to a contract did not foresee or anticipate that prevents performance of the contract and thus terminates it; such an event — for example, a natural disaster or war — is outside the control of the parties and cannot be avoided with due diligence (Source of this concept of Force Majeure: emp.ca/books/468-7 and emp.ca/books/385-7)
