Reporters
The only general Canadian law report series reporting cases in all subject areas from the two federal courts as well as from all provincial courts is the Dominion Law Reports, cited D.L.R.
The next broadest category of case reporters is by region. Regional reporters include such reports as the Western Weekly Reports (W.W.R.) or the Maritime Provinces Reports (M.P.R.).
Finally, there are the provincial reporters, which cover case law from a particular province. In the last two decades there has been considerable re-organization in the way cases from provincial courts are published. The tendency has been to move away from regional series, covering the decisions of several provinces, toward series devoted to a single province’s decisions. For a review of the law reports that were published in the period from before Confederation to 1955, see volume 3 of Sweet and Maxwell’s Legal Bibliography of the British Commonwealth (KF 1 .L45 1955 LAWR).
